We would like to introduce you to Timothy Langston, Auctionata expert in Decorative Arts as well as English and Continental furniture and works of art.
Timothy Langston is a specialist and expert in the areas English and Continental furniture and works of art as well as Decorative Arts. After graduating with an honours degree in Music from Durham University, he continued his studies at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London.
After his graduation, in 2001, the expert joined Mallett Antiques in London. For five years, he was involved in the handling of thousands of British, Continental and Asian works of art. In addition to gallery management, sales, cataloguing and research, he also was head of the restoration department, gaining access to the conservation of some of the finest English and Continental furniture to appear on the open market in recent times.
In July 2005, the expert established his own business, Timothy Langston Fine Arts & Antiques. He now deals in the fine and decorative arts, from his gallery space in London’s famous Pimlico Road. For many years, he has brokered British portraiture, landscape and seascape paintings.
In the decorative arts, his main area of interest is 17th to early 19th century British and Continental Furniture together with Chinese and Japanese porcelain. Since so much Oriental art was made to complement European interior design, Timothy Langston tries whenever possible to juxtapose Eastern with Western antiques to achieve the richest visual context.
Mr Langston also offers a sourcing service for private and decorator clients and assists in the building and maintenance of their collections.
Timothy Langston lives and works in London.
