We would like to introduce you to Mandy Salter, Auctionata expert in Paintings and Works on Paper, Canadian Modern & Contemporary Art as well as Paintings & Sculpture.

Mandy Salter has been in the art business for 20 years specializing in Canadian Modern and Contemporary Painting and Sculpture.

She established her appraisal business in 2002 as a full service art appraisal, collections management and consulting agency. She regularly assists Canadian museums, government institutions and private clients with their appraisal needs. Mandy also works closely with the major international auction houses in getting her clients’ items to auction.

Mandy Salter holds a Master of Art in Art History from the University of Miami and specializes in the work of Canadian Inuit, Cape Dorset and European modern and contemporary artists. She is a certified fine art appraiser and a member of the International Society of Appraisers.

As Chief Curator and Collections Manager at the Art Gallery of Windsor she was responsible for the conception, organization and implementation of over 35 in-house and travelling exhibitions. She just recently finished a project with the City of Windsor, assessing and appraising more than 5,000 items in their Historical Francois Baby House Collection. Mandy has taught art history at academic institutions in Canada, the United States, and in the West Indies. She has 15 years of experience working within the fast-paced museum and gallery scenes of Miami, New York and Toronto.

She considers “Metoschin”, an oil painting by Emily Carr, to be one of her most exciting finds.
