We would like to introduce you to Jörn Tüpke, Auctionata expert in Recorded Media and Records.
News 16th August 1977: "ELVIS died unexpectedly at the age of 42, due to his excessive consumption of medications."
Although Mr Tüpke was only 13 years old at the time of Elvis' death, it triggered an overpowering emotional reaction in him. All of his relatives showered Mr Tüpke with Elvis records to console him. That was the beginning of a passionate collecting career: He started with Elvis Presley, and then broadened the spectrum to almost all musical areas, from pop/rock music right up to e-music, jazz, classical music, folk music etc.
Thanks to his father, an antiques dealer, Mr Tüpke received early access to and understanding of the principles of collecting and dealing with "Sammlerstücken" [collectibles] of all kinds.
At the age of 23, after a partially completed degree in business economics, he started his professional career as a dealer, with the focus, or specialisation, exclusively on "collectible" vinyl from all music genres.
Since then, Mr Tüpke has taken part in national and international sales events (record fairs). For 15 years, Mr Tüpke has participated in the worldwide most important event for record collectors "Verzammeltagen" in Utrecht/Holland, which takes place twice a year.
Today, Mr Tüpke is the successful manager of an ebay shop, with the highest dealer ratings in the areas of customer satisfaction and quality.
Jörn Tüpke lives and works in Berlin.
