We would like to introduce you to Dr. Tobias Ronge, Auctionata expert in European silver plate 17th - 20th century.
Tobias Ronge was interested in art and antiques even as a young man, and made his first purchases in the Wiesbaden art trade. His primary interest was in objects made of silver. Here, above all, he was fascinated by the fact that the objects, in addition to their aesthetic appeal, can be dated precisely to the year, using the mark, and the place of origin and its creator can also be determined.
After an apprenticeship as a bank clerk, Tobias Ronge studied art history in Mainz, Frankfurt am Main and Tübingen. After his degree he worked in the art trade and in the auctioning business for a few years.
Tobias Ronge works in an insurance company, and is the contact person for art damages there. He is also an expert in art and antiques. A focus of his role is historical silver plate, which meshes well with his other passion: cooking for family and friends.
Tobias Ronge is a member of the Verband Deutscher Kunsthistoriker e.V. [Association of German Art Historians] and the Bundesverband der öffentlich bestellten und vereidigten Kunstsachverständigen sowie qualifizierten Kunstsachverständigen e.V. [Federal Association of Publicly Appointed, Sworn and Qualified Experts, Germany].
Dr. Tobias Ronge lives and works in Frankfurt am Main.
