We would like to introduce you to Juliane Sander, Auctionata expert in Jewellery 19th & 20th C.

Juliane Sander´s fascination for antique jewellery started in early years when she used to play with her grandmother's jewellery, not knowing it was her future professional passion. During her training to be a goldsmith in Wiesbaden and Frankfurt, the expert developed an interest for custom and modern jewellery design. In 1995, after a degree with distinction, she started studying art history with an emphasis on arts and crafts and finished with a master's thesis on ornamental stitching and the goldsmith's works of Johann Leonhard Eysler from the 18th century.

The expert is not only engaged with the scientific aspects of jewellery but is also working as a goldsmith. Her works are used as accessories in fashion shows. One of her favourite pieces is currently a black ring of the Ultra Collection by Chanel, but she is also enamoured by the Bourbon-Parme tiara by Joseph Chaumet.

The continuous study of historical jewellery and the long-standing experience as a freelance consultant for the international art trade at Senger in Bamberg, Germany is the base of her specialised knowledge of jewellery. The expert developed a keen instinct for prices and market development by continuously observing the current jewellery art market for antique as well as modern pieces. Ms Sander works at the Frankish open-air museum in Bad Windsheim in Southern Germany since 2004. In addition to her scientific work, she also takes care of curatorial tasks.

Juliane Sander lives and works in Bad Windsheim.
