We would like to introduce you to Linda Maria Edelscharf-Weis, Auctionata Expert in European Paintings 16th - 20th century and Porcelain (18th century - Present).
After finishing school, Ms. Edelscharf-Weis studied law and art history at Freie Universität in Berlin from 1978 to 1986. Law and art? How do the two go together? ‘It’s quite simple,’ says the Brazilian native. ‘My head chose law but my heart chose art; and I’m grateful that I was able to unite the two at a young age.’
Today, Ms. Edelscharf-Weis is an independent consultant as well as a freelance expert in household effects. She is specialized in diverse areas, from expert opinions of the court in matters of estate and inheritance, as well as in matters of insolvency law and lien, through to art-historical researches and provenance determination to valuations of 16th - 20th century European paintings.
She is particularly passionate about 19th and 20th century paintings, and is also equally at home in the world of porcelain from the 18th century to the present day.
Linda Maria Edelscharf-Weis lives and works in Berlin and Schwerin.
