We would like to introduce you to Côme Remy, Auctionata expert in Decorative Arts & Design 20th century as well as Fashion, Accessories and Luxury.

Côme Remy is a French art historian and also a lawyer. He trained as an auctioneer in France, and trained in and studied decorative arts at Sotheby’s in London and Paris. He is a generalist in 20th Century Decorative Arts with a unique specialty in leather collectibles by Hermès, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.

The expert was head archivist for the heritage collection at Hermès Paris, focusing on pieces both made by and retailed by the famous saddle maker since 1837. He also worked for Christie’s for four years in New York, London, Amsterdam, Monaco and Paris where he was Head of the 20th Century Decorative Arts department.

In 2000, Mr. Remy established his own art consultancy business advising collectors and art lovers. His global clientele includes also architects, interior designers, family offices, art funds and institutions. He is an expert for French auction houses, writing catalogue entries regularly and leading sales.

Although he collects personally from all periods, he searches particularly for objects “with a soul”, mixing objects freely from many periods - from ancient Roman furniture to contemporary designers.

Côme Remy lives and works in Paris.
