We would like to introduce you to Michele Danieli, Auctionata expert in Old Master Paintings.
Art historian Michele Danieli first developed an interest in Renaissance and Baroque art in high school. After achieving his Ph.D. from the University of Bologna, he was awarded scholarships to study in Florence and Ferrara.
The main focus of Mr Danieli’s academic work is 15th to 18th century Italian painting. He has published over 40 scholarly works and has three more in the pipeline. He has also worked on numerous exhibitions, including the 2008 Garofalo exhibition, as one of the curators.
Mr Danieli first entered the art market as a consultant for antiquarians and auction houses, before joining the Old Master Paintings department at Finarte auction house in Milan. His most remarkable discoveries include an exquisite Simon Vouet, a canvas by Piazzetta, and a series of drawings by Marcantonio Franceschini. Mr Danieli is highly specialised in Italian and European Mannerist painting.
