Helaine Fendelman is a nationally recognized authority in the American arts and antiques field, having published numerous texts on the subject including,All About Appraising: The Definitive Appraisal Handbookand Price it Yourself, Treasures in Your Attic, among many others. Helaine is also the well-known Contributing Editor for Hearst magazine’sCountry Livingacclaimed column, “What Is It? What Is It Worth?”. Helaine Fendelman has extended her years of expertise into collecting works of American decorative arts, many of which were successfully sold at Sotheby’s in 1993. She was formerly the President of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA), where she was a member of the board for over 20 years. Moreover, Ms. Fendelman has served as a guest Curator at the American Folk Art Museum, in addition to being an Adjunct Professor at New York University (NYU). Helaine established her eponymous art consultancy and appraisals firm, Helaine Fendelman & Associates, which provides clients with collection management and consulting services, as well as valuations for estates, museums, and other non-profit organizations.
