We would like to introduce you to Elio Ferraro, Auctionata expert in Vintage Fashion & Accessories after 1940.
Elio Ferraro is an expert in 20th Century Fashion, Accessories, and Luxury Goods with over 20 years of experience collecting, dealing, and designing. His passion is simple: beautiful pieces regardless of style, era, or creator.
Born in Sicily, he moved to Florence to study architecture. While studying, he started to work as a consultant at fashion houses such as Salvatore Ferragamo and Emilio Pucci, before accepting an opportunity with one of the major textile editors in Japan, where he lived and worked during the 80's. While working as a designer, Mr. Ferraro first started collecting before deciding to launch his own business in vintage couture and accessories. He felt there were not enough unique selections in the marketplace.
In the past few years, Mr. Ferraro has created a completely new approach towards vintage by transforming the fantasy of nostalgic decadence with a precise contemporary interpretation, in an environment of pure, undeniable glamour and luxury. His lifelong love-affair with design and fashion inspires his gallery, which is the embodiment of his unique aesthetic vision. Mr. Ferraro's Florence and Milan stores have become a „must-see“ for international designers, stylists, and celebrities worldwide. Thanks to his international reputation, he has been hosted in two exclusive in-store shops in London - Selfridges and Harvey Nichols.
One of Mr. Ferraro´s most recent finds is a 1950's wardrobe from an aristocrat in Torino filled with Schiaparelli, Dior, and Givenchy.
Elio Ferraro lives and works in Milan.
