We would like to introduce you to Sandra Butler, Auctionata expert in Decorative Arts of the 19th century.
After graduating with a degree in Art and Art History at Kutztown State College, Sandra Butler began working in the antiques business in 1970, attending farm auctions in Pennsylvania and selling country and primitive items at the weekend antique markets. She then began exhibiting at antique shows all across the United States, further expanding her knowledge base to more formal, esoteric and decorative antiques, along with what were the popular items during that period: Victorian oak, mahogany, walnut, and rosewood furnishings and accessories.
In the late 1980's, Ms Butler began travelling to European markets and shows, to acquire interesting French and Asian antiques, and also to expand her knowledge by visiting the major museums and mansions.
After 43 years in the business, Ms Butler is extremely well-versed in the fields of 19th and 20th century decorative arts, which she appraises as well as buys and sells at national fairs. Additionally, she is a member of the American Art Dealers Association.
Sandra Butler lives and works in Florida.
