We would like to introduce you to Antoine Bauernfeind, Auctionata expert in Folk Art, Decorative Arts Gothic - Historism, Furniture 17th - early 19th century as well as Antique Furniture, Decorative Arts & Sculpture.

Already during his Art History study in Vienna, Antoine Bauernfeind began dealing in antiques, developing a fascination for the art of the Baroque period and antique applied arts in general.

He has operated his antique business on Vienna’s most prestigious address, the Dorotheergasse, for decades with a concentration on his fields of expertise, especially exquisite furniture from the Empire to the early Biedermeier periods. Religious sculptures, folk art, and other handcrafted gems from the past also frequently pass through his hands.

Mr. Bauernfeind has advised countless collectors and often serves as an expert consultant in the appraisal of antique pieces. He constantly keeps tabs on the market and now shares his extensive knowledge with the clients of Auctionata.

Coffee in Vienna

At Auctionata, we regularly provide valuations for items from all over the world. One day, a request arrived from a suburb of Vienna. The attached photos revealed a small collection of Old Vienna, Augarten and Meissen porcelain. It was an inheritance, now destined for auction. I was eager to see the porcelain with my own eyes – and it just so happened that I was in town. I called the seller and made an appointment.
