We would like to introduce you to Dr. Cyrill Thiaudière, Auctionata expert in Ancient Jewelry.
Dr. Cyrill Thiaudière was studying art history at the Poitiers University when he became acquainted with Gérard Nicolini, one of the leading art historians in the field of ancient jewelry. He let his students gain a deep insight into all aspects of this specialist field by studying the ancient manufacturing technique, comprehensive research and examining originals in museums.
Considering the small details of quotidian art and placing them in the larger context of an epoch was a method of discovering art history that fascinated the expert so much that he chose to specialize in ancient jewelry.
It was around this time that he met Dr. Corinne Besson, who shared the same passion. In 2012, they launched the consulting firm Aurum Antiquum, offering comprehensive services, ranging from scientific appraisals and copywriting to procurement on behalf of private collectors as well as public institutions.
A scientific author, Dr. Cyrill Thiaudière not only wrote numerous essays and articles for archaeological magazines, but has also published for the Louvre since 2008. For instance, he issued scientific essays such as “L'Orient romain et byzantin au Louvre” (The Roman and Byzantine Orient at the Louvre) in 2012 or “Méroé, un empore sur le Nil” (Meroë – A Kingdom on the Nile) in 2010.
Continuously expanding his expertise is a logical consequence of Dr. Cyrill Thiaudière's scientific work as an art historian. His daily work on an object and exposing its history continually inspires the expert again and again.
Dr. Cyrill Thiaudière lives and works in Mazerolles, France.
