Michael Broadbent (1998): ★★★(★★)
An impressive, powerful wine. The following month at Ferreira's, noting Luscious, figgy fruit, richness and depth. Most recently, delicious wine with marvellous length and finish.
Roy Hersh, For the love of Port (2014): 95+/100
Extremely dark garnet with nearly full opacity. Floral and cranberry notes, red profile and distinctly rose petal, intricate and refined, dark character. Massive weight and concentration, silky if not elegant across the tongue. Excellent acidity and focus, medium ripe tannins. A delicious Port with a long finish and superb upside potential and dark purple fruits. Big chalky tannins arrive late.
Roy Hersh, For the love of Port (2007): 93+/100
Intense black cherry and raspberry notes, peppery and herbal essence. Excellent balance, elegant style. Fine mouthfeel and style. Very clean. Medium weight with great texture that is smooth and fluid. Long and complex finish and delicious overall. Seamless elegance!

James Suckling, Wine Spectator (1998): 90/100
Slightly heavy but impressively concentrated, this is a very ripe young Port with plum, raisin and spice aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, very sweet, with sugar-coated, thick tannins.
