The sheet is besides slight handling creases in good condition. There are very fine scratches in two points. The sheet is reversibly mounted in two points at the upper edge of the reverse, which are faintly pushing through to the front and are a little bit dusty here. Furthermore, the sheet is framed. The dimensions of the sheet are 59.4 x 41.9 cm and the frame measures 66.3 x 51.2 cm.
Max Bill (1908-1994)
Born in Winterthur in 1909, Max Bill studied at the Bauhaus School in Dessau under many teachers including Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee and Oskar Schlemmer from 1927 to 1929. After working on graphic designs for a number of modern buildings, he built his first house and studio in Zurich-Höngg. In the 1950s he was engaged in theoretical writings and progressive graphic work which made him the most influential Swiss artist in the realms of graphic design. His architectural designs include that of the Bauhaus Archive in Berlin. (tm)
