We would like to introduce you to Christiane Scharrer-Sieb, Auctionata expert in Antique Jewelry.

Raised in a family with an affinity for music and art, Christiane Scharrer-Sieb discovered her passion for art, music, and literature in her early years. Due to her family background, she had an early desire to work in the art business, especially the auction business, which had always fascinated her.

After studying history of art at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen and at the Sorbonne in Paris, the expert started to work for the Nagel auction house in Stuttgart. For more than four years, she managed the department for European arts and crafts before she took over the department for jewelry and jewels at the Neumeister auction house in Munich in 1998.

In 2008, she rounded up her expertise when she became a licensed auctioneer and completed the training to be a certified gemmologist and diamond appraiser in the following year. She is a member of the German Gemmological Society in Idar-Oberstein and since 2011, offers an extensive appraising service for jewelry and jewels. In the same year, she founded her own jewelry trade “Halsbandaffaire“, which specialized in selected antique and modern jewelry as well as unique pieces. The expert attaches great importance to art historical classification and scientific assessment of materials of the antique and unique pieces of jewelry she is trading.

Christiane Scharrer-Sieb lives and works in Munich.
