We would like to introduce you to Laurence Souksi, Auctionata expert in Asian Art, Tribal Art & Antiquities as well as Chinese Snuff Bottles.
Laurence Souksi has been passionate about Chinese snuff bottles for twenty years.
She has been an expert at the CNES (Chambre Nationale des Experts Spécialisés en Objets d’art et de Collection) since 2002 and was appointed expert in 2003 at the French auction house Pierre Bergé et associés in Paris.
As member of the International Chinese Snuff Bottle Society, she participates every year at the convention organized by this American association, which attracts the most famous collectors and dealers in the world.
She has written articles and catalogues on snuff bottles since 1995, and holds conferences regularly.
Ms. Souksi established the gallery Espace 4 with her business partner Frantz Fray in 2003. There, she exhibits a unique collection of antique Chinese snuff bottles, and it is her pleasure to advise both collectors and beginners.
She is most passionate about agate snuff bottles, particularly those using “shadow” agate, where the master carver exploits a natural vein in the stone to create an “ink play” design.
Laurence Souksi lives and works in Paris.
