We would like to introduce you to Eric Beugnet, Auctionata expert in 20th C. Decorative Arts & Design as well as Scandinavian Design.

Eric Beugnet is an expert in 20th century Antiques and Design with specialization in Scandinavian design from 1900 to 1980. Early in his academic career, the expert discovered his passion for antique and modern furniture, particularly the fine woodwork and craftsmanship fascinated him.

Therefore, he attended a year course at Sotheby´s Institute of Art with focus on decorative arts and antiques after graduating his classical studies in art and language at Milestone College in London.

More than five years the expert worked in the antique shop Vika Antikk in Oslo specialized in English Antiques, where he could proof and extend his broad knowledge of the international market for antique and design furniture. During this time, his interest in 20th century design and Scandinavian design in particular increased ever more until he decided to move from British Antiques to Modern Scandinavian design.

At the Danish auction house Lauritz.com he worked four years as an expert for antique and modern furniture before he founded the design trade ModernTribute in 2009. From his Oslo-based sales gallery Eric Beugnet exports Scandinavian Design to both dealers and private collectors throughout the world.

His expertise arises from a cultivated interest, understanding of furniture making as well as personal research, field work and extensive travelling through Sweden, Denmark and Norway from auction houses to private dealers.

Eric Beugnet lives and works in Oslo.
