Linda Wrigglesworth is a specialist and expert in Antique Chinese Imperial costumes and textiles with over 35 years of international experience. As a visiting curator, cataloguer and advisor to museums and collectors throughout the world Linda Wrigglesworth has an extensive knowledge of the international market for Asian textiles.
She discovered her passion for exquisite Asian textiles early in her career. Particularly their fine embroidery and artistic workmanship fascinated her from the beginning. In order to protect and to give them a place in history as remarkable works of art she started to collect und sell those extraordinary pieces of textile art.
In 1978 the expert founded her London based gallery Linda Wrigglesworth Ltd. She continues to be one of the leading institutions in the field of Antique Asian Imperial costumes. The art consultancy advices both private collectors as well as internationally institutes in purchasing, conserving and researching costumes and textiles in particular from the Ming and Qing periods.
In 1990 Linda published the work “Imperial Wardrobe” in 1990 co-authored with Gary Dickinson, which remains to be one of the leading reference works on this subject.
She retired from her Ltd. company in 2008, but is still working as a visiting curator and consultant.
