We would like to introduce you to Michael d’Aprile, Auctionata expert in Wine.

Wine and the love of pleasure belong together as much as wine and Michael d'Aprile do. Growing up in Markgräflerland, an area of Germany near the Swiss border, and a region full of hospitality and joie de vivre, he developed an interest in fine wines at an early age.

By age 21, he was already a leading sommelier at Teufelhof in Basel. After successfully participating in numerous competitions including the Trophée Ruinart and many years in glamorous restaurants, he was drawn from the world of fine cuisine to trading fine wine at one of Germany's most famous wineries, Weingut Freiherr Heyl zu Herrnsheim in Nierstein am Rhein.

Michael d'Aprile lives and works in Berlin since 2003; for him, Berlin is a city with the greatest potential for gastronomic development in the world. Well-versed in marketing and sales, he now runs a wine agency. With the opening of his fine wine shop “Grünberger Weinhandlung”, he realized a long-cherished dream.

Numerous wine tastings for wine guides his years of experience and tastings in Bordeaux and California have cemented his reputation as a specialist in rare and high-quality wines. His knowledge is at the tip of his tongue.

His wife Catherina also owns a wine shop in Berlin, where the couple seeks new discoveries and rarities of the wine world.
