We would like to introduce you to Robert Schoisengeier, Auctionata expert in Antique & Rare Books as well as Maps, Works on Paper & Prints.

Robert Schoisengeier is able to draw on 32 years of experience as an antiquarian.

His training in various antiquarian book and art shops has provided him with comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the domain of the antiquarian book trade.

In 1996 he acquired the Antiquariat Burgverlag in the centre of Vienna, founded in 1920, and has been running it ever since with the help of his employees. In this classic antiquarian bookshop, which appeared in the recently published monograph Die schönsten Buchhandlungen Europas (Europe’s most beautiful bookshops), rare books, incunabula, old prints, autographs and manuscripts are offered for sale to an international clientele.

In 2003 he opened a second store that deals with prints, maps, drawings and watercolours.

His main activities involve participating in international trade fairs and auctions, the compilation of regularly published catalogues, and the building and expanding of private collections and libraries. With the help of his expertise and guidance, countless valuable collections and estates have already been sold successfully.

He is a member of the international association ILAB (International League of Antiquarian Booksellers), whose members vouch for the principles stipulated in theILAB Code of Ethics: the authenticity of items handled, their complete and exact description, including any faults and defects, and pricing in line with international conventions.

Robert Schoisengeier lives and works in Vienna.
