We would like to introduce you to Manfred Giehmann, Auctionata expert in Ethnic Asian Jewellery.
Manfred Giehmann started his career studying drafting and mapping in France. He then moved to Singapore in 1972 to work on mapping projects in the region.
Mr. Giehmann developed his expertise that began with being a collector of tribal and ethnic jewellery over 35 years ago. He began deepening his expertise by conducting research on his collection in the last ten years. Within the last five years he started to be recognized as an expert and started to consult on the subject.
His expertise is specifically focused on minority group ethnic jewellery from Southeast Asia from prehistoric times to the present. One of his favorite finds discovered in Indonesia is a ritual gold pectoral disk with Austonesian design dating back several hundred years.
He is the author of the book “Ethnic Jewellery from Indonesia”.
Manfred Giehmann lives and works in Bali.
