We would like to introduce you to Kirsten Pax, Auctionata expert in Vintage Fashion Jewellery.
While Kirsten Pax was studying, she was already active as a dealer of Art Nouveau and Art Deco furniture and objects, together in Berlin with a business associate. In the 1990s, during one of her shopping trips to London's Portobello Road, she discovered her personal passion for vintage costume jewellery.
Ms Pax regards vintage fashion jewellery as an expression of design in miniature format and the sophistication of artisanal crafts. For 12 years, she has been operating her "Glanzstücke" Gallery in one of Berlin's most prestigious addresses, specializing in pieces signed by artists, and those of important manufacturers, dating from 1900 to 1970.
The wearability and affordability of antique fashion jewellery means a great deal to her, and so she loves to pass on her affection for this field to new collectors. Continuously buying, travelling, and studying all relevant literature means that Ms Pax keeps her finger on the pulse of market developments and is a seasoned expert of the "artificial" treasures which, in their splendor, are even sometimes superior to their fine jewellery counterparts.
Kirsten Pax lives and works in Berlin.
