We would like to introduce you to Philippe Crasse, Auctionata Expert in Mechanical Musical Instruments.
Mr. Crasse has nearly four decades of experience creating and restoring mechanical musical instruments. The breathe of his expertise is expansive, ranging from automata, music boxes, and musical watches and clocks, to fairground art, carousels, and technical devices from the 16th – 18th centuries. Philippe is the Founding Partner of Le LUDION, a manufactory of mechanical organs, where he has been employed since 1976.
Additionally, Mr. Crasse has curated several exhibitions related to his field of interest including: ‘Music Boxes, Mischievous Boxes’ at the Grand Palais in Paris, as well as the retrospective and concert ’30 Years of Ludion’. He has published several works on the subject, such as Blowin’ in the Wind: A l’Ecoute des Automates flûtistes (2014).
