At university and in his later professional life, he intensified his knowledge in the area of Islamic ceramics.
After he completed his degree, he started a career in the art trade and the auctions business. He gained knowledge of many different sectors through internships and practical training, and finally took over the area of Islamic art in the auction house Nagel in Stuttgart.
