We would like to introduce you to Ying Hu, Auctionata expert in Chinese Coins, Chinese Characters, Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy as well as Silverware (Asia and Europe).
From an early age on, Mr Hu had an interest in history and art. As a child, he started to collect coins, as they were quite cheap in China in the mid 1980s, meaning that anyone could afford them. Mr Hu spent almost all of his pocket money on coins.
As a lecturer of the Chinese language, Mr Hu is constantly dealing with Chinese characters. Mr Hu has taught calligraphy courses, and exhibited his calligraphy works to the public. As an expert, he also assists art dealers who run antique shops.
Over the years, Mr Hu has gained experience in the area of Chinese characters: standard lettering (Kaishu), cursive (Xingshu), small seal script (Xiao Zhuan), and clerical script (Lishu). He is also an expert in Chinese coins of all types, as well as paper money and medals. Mr Hu is also familiar with German coins from 1800 to the present day. His area of expertise primarily covers Chinese art: Asiatica, silver, ivory, jade, bronze, porcelain, wood and horn, painting and calligraphy, snuff bottles, ceramics, stone etc. Mr Hu is also familiar with silverware from Asia and Europe. Mr Hu’s area of expertise also includes various punches from Asia and Europe, determining their authenticity, sometimes even without a punch.
