We would like to introduce you to Tasillo Römisch, Auctionata expert in Space Memorabilia.
Tasillo Römisch discovered his passion for spaceflight at an early age. It was on July 20, 1969, to be precise, when he witnessed the space shuttle Apollo 11 radio its successful landing on the moon to Houston with the words “the Eagle has landed” on his grandfather’s television. Since then, the expert has held an unremitting fascination for the history of spaceflight.
Today, Tasillo Römisch is the proud owner of a collection unlike any other in the world. Over 100,000 items of space flight history can be found in Europe’s only private spaceflight museum, which the expert built in his hometown of Mittweida, a university town in Saxony.
He has been giving lectures across the globe on the subject of spaceflight. In doing so, not only is he invited to various congresses and exhibitions as a private lecturer, he also regularly organizes series of lectures around the subject of the history of technology with a focus on spaceflight at the University of Mittweida.
By journeying to diverse spaceflight conventions and auctions, along with numerous Russian and American rocket launches, Tasillo Römisch travelled to some of the remotest corners of the earth. Most of all however, his travels led him to the traditional hubs of Russian and American spaceflight. He regularly organizes trips to Baikanur, Swjosdny Gorodok (Star City) or Kaluga, where he leads workshops and gives lectures. The Astronaut Hall of Fame of the Kennedy Space Center in Florida pronounced the expert as an honorary astronaut, and in 1995 he was invited to witness the launch of the space shuttle Atlantis as an official NASA guest.
The expert has maintained close ties to cosmonauts and astronauts since many years, which has allowed him to continually expand his collections and expert knowledge.
Tasillo Römisch lives and works in Mittweida.
