    Additional Information & Condition

In 1992 Blum was invited by Marlboro to take photographs for an advertising campaign in the US. This first photo shooting, which was followed by further shootings, would make the photographer internationally known and coin the myth of America and the product photography. Some pictures of the first shooting have been bought by the Daimler Art Collection in Berlin and exhibited from April 4 to November 6, 2016.

    Condition:
The photograph shows two nicks in the acrylic glass to the top left edge. The acrylic glass bears minor traces of adhesive tape. The upper edge shows air bubbles and a scratch in the acrylic glass: there are traces of glue under the acrylic glass originating from the manufacturing process to the upper right corner. There are traces from a former mounting on the reverse. Overall very good impression.

    Dieter Blum (b. 1936)

He has received commissions by magazines such as Der Spiegel, Stern, Time and Vanity Fair. Blum has also portrayed the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra for more than thirty years and therefore received the World Press Award in 1982. He is especially known for his pictures of Marlboro campaigns as well as for his documentations of professional dancers. In 2015, he was awarded the Médaille de Vermeil Arts-Sciences-Lettres for his life’s work in Paris. Blum’s works have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions all over the world.
