The painting is in very good condition, showing only the lightest traces of usage to the frame.
Vitomir Kelava (b. 1952)
Born in Zenica in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Vitomir Kelava studied under Stojan Celic at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade until 1983. He lives and works on the island of Rab in Croatia and runs his own studio gallery there. Kelava’s early works are clearly marked by the postmodern style of the 1980s, which was later followed by a metaphysical phase. In the 1990s, he turned to an ‘archaic syncretism’. Since the turn of the century he has also been working on paintings with objects, using some unusual materials. (cko)
