Even as a child, Eugen Kasparek possessed refined, delicate taste. It was only a matter of time before he found his vocation.

In 1978, Mr Kasparek developed a love of rare spirits and the culture that surrounds fine whisky, cognac and rum whilst working as a bartender at the legendary John’s Club in Garmisch Partenkirchen, Bavaria. All three spirits held a fascination for him due to their varying historical significance, historical development, and range of taste and characteristics. Later, he developed professional expertise through various positions in haute cuisine and specialist retail.

As one of the first event managers in Germany in the early 1980s, Mr Kasparek went on to become an international event consultant. Then, in 1997, he dedicated himself exclusively to his beloved spirits. His expertise in the subject comes from years of experience and knowledge of international distributors, distilleries and bottling series.

His unique taste and ability convinced and impressed in his role as an expert, jury member and author in professional circles. He has handled many thousands of standard and particularly rare bottles in the course of his career. He is constantly expanding his knowledge in his role as Master of Tasting at Whisky & Cigars in Berlin.

His creed: Learn enjoyment and appreciate the finest quality – especially the art of old European distillation, with its wonderful complexity.
