Bernd Ziegenrücker studied art history and medieval history in Munich. After his studies, he spent a few years working in a Munich gallery dealing in contemporary art.

Then followed 15 years as an art expert with a leading art insurer in the German Rhineland and Vienna. His day-to-day business included regular visits to collectors, professional creation of inventories, and valuation of art objects.

Seeing and handling a lot of items is a vital prerequisite for becoming a connoisseur – something that is essential for appraisals and valuations. Regular visits to museums and galleries, along with knowledge of standard and expert literature, are also important. In addition to all this, Mr. Ziegenrücker is an expert in materials and restoration. He has an excellent network of museum employees, gallery owners, artists and restorers.

Mr. Ziegenrücker has been managing partner of Artekuranz GmbH & Co. KG since May 2009.
